Had a tough week in regards to exams a lot of study done and my overall feeling towards the end of the week towards the exams is 50-50 in my performance in all 6 exams.  We had a good meeting this evening with Jim O' Dwyer in relation to web publishing and a lot of things were cleared up and peoples points put forward and Jim was extremely fair and took our points on board and gave us a positive response so that was good, people were happy enough.  Thank god this week is over college wise but it all starts again next week exams and presentations.  Anyway
Till next time

Assignments and exams

Had a good weekend, I went to killarney with my girlfriend and stayed in the Quallty Resort which was nice and we went to a play in the INEC which was good. Weather was pretty krap all the same. Another busy week was in store we have assignments due left, right and centre and also found out we have another chance to do our web publishing and I must re do it as i got a pretty high percentage of copy and paste on turnitin.com which quite franky is ridiculous, also gotta service support assignment due friday which is a bit tricky and the usual database lab due thursday which in one word is IMPOSSIBLE. Exams, exams and exams next weel. Cant wait for semester to end cos im wrecked and sick of it at this stage.
Until next week

SiteFix - http://www.carzone.ie

http://www.carzone.ie

Carzone.ie is Ireland's leading site for new and used motor vehicle search and private sellers and car dealers can also advertise vehicles they wish to sell. So in relation to the motor industry it has all the advertisement needs for anybody in the country who is trying to sell any type of road vehicle and people even throw in boats and jet skis for sale as well even though its is a road vehicle based site. The reason for its popularity was its user-friendliness in relation to finding new and used cars and how easy it was to find a specific vehicle that a user is looking for and every search part was a list box with with a drop down to show every single detail about the car from how many doors you want right down to the fuel type of the car. However two to three months ago the site was updated to what carzone naturally claimed to be better, but the fact of the matter in my view anyway is that its a million times worse. In the used car search area of the site, everything is cramped into one small area and when you place the mouse over say the size of the engine you want you must click on the bar and if it goes up naturally engine size increases and down it decreases but when you take your finger of the button of the mouse it drops to one or two engine sizes to the engine size you don't want and when you go search for the car with the engine size you want yes it works but if you want to modify your search when you go back to the details section the search for the engine size is deleted from the list and you must go back and do it all over again even though a user might mot want a particular section changed and id unbelievably frustrating. When you want an insurance quote it is automatically assigned to Hibernian insurance and if you enter a car with an engine size over 1.4 litres it will not quote you as it is Hibernian policy to either ring or go in to a broker to get that sort of a quote. Before of you wanted to advertise a car on the site it was 30 euro but since new site went up it is now 40 euro. In the new car search area they have left it the same as the old site where as more people will be looking for a used car and the search area in the new car section of the site is the preferred way of searching for the used car section. Now they have separated commercial vehicles from the used car section altogether which in ways is a good thing but at the same time it is just another step the user must take to find a commercial vehicle which could be done in new or used section. The old site was a million times more user friendly and from talking to people who use the site they agree that the old one was better and popularity for the site has fallen and maybe the people who own carzone might want to re-think the new version as it is simply not good enough
Had a pretty average weekend, went to the cinema to see Max Payne and Easy Virtue they were ok not the best. Went to watch a soccer match with my girlfriend and her little cousin was playing, they drew 1-1 even though they should have hammered them. I did the next phase of my IT Training project the design phase and im happy enough with it and I found out that the first phase that i did was all wrong as i was not given a proper explanation of what to do as I was in Cyprus when this was happening but im sure we can resolve it. Missed my database exam yesterday as I was sick and was told i cant sit it now which is ridiculous but anyway. We have our exam tommorow in web publishing and hopefully it will go nice and smooth.
