SiteFix - http://www.carzone.ie

http://www.carzone.ie

Carzone.ie is Ireland's leading site for new and used motor vehicle search and private sellers and car dealers can also advertise vehicles they wish to sell. So in relation to the motor industry it has all the advertisement needs for anybody in the country who is trying to sell any type of road vehicle and people even throw in boats and jet skis for sale as well even though its is a road vehicle based site. The reason for its popularity was its user-friendliness in relation to finding new and used cars and how easy it was to find a specific vehicle that a user is looking for and every search part was a list box with with a drop down to show every single detail about the car from how many doors you want right down to the fuel type of the car. However two to three months ago the site was updated to what carzone naturally claimed to be better, but the fact of the matter in my view anyway is that its a million times worse. In the used car search area of the site, everything is cramped into one small area and when you place the mouse over say the size of the engine you want you must click on the bar and if it goes up naturally engine size increases and down it decreases but when you take your finger of the button of the mouse it drops to one or two engine sizes to the engine size you don't want and when you go search for the car with the engine size you want yes it works but if you want to modify your search when you go back to the details section the search for the engine size is deleted from the list and you must go back and do it all over again even though a user might mot want a particular section changed and id unbelievably frustrating. When you want an insurance quote it is automatically assigned to Hibernian insurance and if you enter a car with an engine size over 1.4 litres it will not quote you as it is Hibernian policy to either ring or go in to a broker to get that sort of a quote. Before of you wanted to advertise a car on the site it was 30 euro but since new site went up it is now 40 euro. In the new car search area they have left it the same as the old site where as more people will be looking for a used car and the search area in the new car section of the site is the preferred way of searching for the used car section. Now they have separated commercial vehicles from the used car section altogether which in ways is a good thing but at the same time it is just another step the user must take to find a commercial vehicle which could be done in new or used section. The old site was a million times more user friendly and from talking to people who use the site they agree that the old one was better and popularity for the site has fallen and maybe the people who own carzone might want to re-think the new version as it is simply not good enough
